OKLAHOMA CITY – With one round of severe storms complete and another round expected, Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John D. Doak has declared an emergency in Oklahoma. The declaration allows insurance companies to bring in additional adjusters to help in the claims process.
“I made the decision to order a Declaration of Emergency to help storm victims get the help they need quickly,” said Doak.
Commissioner Doak also wants Oklahomans to know some important steps to take if they receive storm damage.
“First and foremost, make sure you and your family are safe,” Doak said. “Don’t make a bad situation worse by putting yourself in danger while assessing damage. Be especially careful of downed power lines, broken glass, exposed nails and other debris.”
